INTRO
In my World Studies class we are learning about different kinds of religions. Some that we are learning about are Buddhism,Hinduism,Islam,Christianity ect. But I have learned a couple of things from the religion Hinduism and I will like to tell you some interesting facts about it and I hope you will learn some good and interesting facts about it.

I will like to tell you about who had founded Hinduism. But the thing is that no one really knows. But they think it was bast on the the Caste System. Which is just a pattern of of social classes of
Hinduism.

# OF FOLLOWERS & THEIR LOCATIONS TODAY
There is about 900 million people with the religion of Hinduism. The places with the most Hinduism religion are in India,United Kingdom,and also the is some people in the United States with the religion of Hinduism.
Some of their holy books and or sacred texts are Vedas,Upanishads,Sutras,and Bhagavad Gita. Like people usually read the Bible but in the Hindu religion they read these instead of the bible that we read.
Unlike us the have way different holidays that we do. Like us we might celebrate like Thanksgiving,Christmas,Halloween, ect. But the Hindus celebrate like holidays called Mahashivarati,Holi,Diwail, and another one called Dusserah.
PARTICULAR DRESS/CLOTHING
Men wear traditional clothing during worship,prayers,and festival days. Which also include dhoit,kurta,chaddar,or churidar. Woman wear traditional clothing which is mostly dress called a saree or salwar-kamiz. Cover their head when they are worshiping other times considered an essental element of modesty.
RITUALS/CUSTOMS
One ritual that they have is called a Puja and this is done to keep Hindus aware to their family gods and mindful of their duties as individuals. This ritual has three steps to it and they have to do this like about every day. The Hindus first have to get a small statue or a picture of the their god [Darshana]. Second they have to place the statue or picture of their god in a sacred corner to worship the god,or Puja. The worshiper offers flowers,fruits,and cooked food [Bhog]. Last but not least is retriving the blessed food [Prasada] and consuming it. This is thought to bring the deity down to earth and bring a person closer to them.
HIERARCHY/ORGANIZATION
They put together a hierarchy of four Varnas. Which late was expanded to include a fifth category. The categories are the Brahmin the priests and religious officals. The Kshatriya rulers an the warriers. Next Vaishya farmers,marchants,traders,craftsman. Then Shudra which are servants of upper castes and peasants. Finally the one that got added the untouchables the dirtiest jobs:latrine cleaners, ect.
